GENERAL DENTISTRY

Hygiene and prevention of oral diseases

Prevention is the safest way to have a perfect and healthy smile. A correct and daily oral hygiene help to prevent problems such as caries, gingivitis, and periodontitis, guaranteeing the health of your teeth. A dental checkup is recommended twice a year.

Dental examination:

  • Visual examination of the mouth, face, jaws, and neck
  • Digital radiographic examination
  • Periodontal pocket measurement
  • Professional tooth cleaning
  • Data storage in the medical record

Fluoridation

It consists of the administration of fluoride to prevent carious lesions and strengthen the enamel and dental structures. Fluoride is a mineral that transforms the hydroxyapatite crystals (a constituent of tooth enamel) in fluorapatite, a substance that is more resistant to the demineralizing acids of the bacterial plaque. Fluoride can be taken in two different ways, through topical fluoride and systemic fluoride.

Topical fluoride

It is carried out at any age and can be applied by a professional or self-applied. In the second case, the fluoride is mainly administered through sodium fluoride toothpastes or mouthwashes. Instead, the professional treatment is performed in the dental studio by a professional who calibrates the fluoride dosage in a timely manner. It is recommended to provide professional fluoride treatment twice a year, together with a professional dental cleaning.

Systemic fluoride

Fluoride is administered through drops or tablets and acts on the dental elements during their development. In this way, the fluoride can be incorporated into the deeper layers of the tooth. It is necessary that the administration of this element happens throughout the period of odontogenesis, which begins with the mother during pregnancy (the mineralization of the teeth begins from the 4th month of intrauterine life) until the age of 12-13 years.

Dental Sealant

Dental sealants and topical fluoride administration are the main treatments in terms of dental prevention in young patients. The function of the sealant is to protect the tooth from dental caries in those reliefs where the cleaning and the control of the plaque are more difficult (at the level of occlusal grooves). The occlusal surface of the teeth is in fact characterized by complex anatomy, rich in depressions, grooves, fissures, and pits, which are very difficult to clean, and therefore predisposed to the formation of carious lesions.

To carry out this treatment, a very fluid resinous material is used to fill the grooves and fissures of the teeth, previously well cleaned and washed. In addition, many sealants on the market contain variable concentrations of fluoride, which is slowly released over time, helping to make the enamel more resistant. It is a painless, non-invasive procedure that does not require any form of anesthesia.

Dental Aesthetics

Modern dentistry is increasingly investing in aesthetics. A beautiful smile is a gift that makes us happy, appreciated, and confident. That’s why we do our best to give everyone the smile they dream.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are aesthetic costume made porcelain coatings with a thickness of about 0.3-0.6 mm, suitable for covering the external surface of the teeth. Their function is to change the color, shape, and positioning of the teeth. This method has the great advantage of preserving dental tissue, as in most cases the tooth is not even prepared.

Dental veneers vary according to the material and manufacturing method. So we have composite dental veneers that are made directly in the patient’s mouth during the dental session or ceramic veneers produced in the laboratory starting from dental impressions taken by the doctor in the clinic.

Direct composite veneers

These veneers are created directly in the dental office by adding different layers of composite over the tooth. This is a procedure that finishes in one session so it does’t need laboratory adjustments. They have a good aesthetic, but the only difference with ceramic is that in the long term they lose some of their initial brightness. The main advantage is that the composite is repairable, while the ceramic is not.

Ceramic veneers
  • Feldspathic veneers

They are the most pleasant from the aesthetic point of view, but also the most expensive, as the laboratory process to produce them is completely artisanal and complex. They are created by hand stratifying feldspathic ceramic over the stone dental model in the laboratory. Feldspathic veneers offer maximal naturality and aesthetics. They are weaker than emax veneers and don’t have the same adaption with the tooth structure as emax veneers do. Feldspathic veneers need less tooth preparation than emax veneers.

  • Emax veneers

These are pressed ceramic veneers (Emax press Ivoclar). They have a splendid aesthetic, maybe not the same as those layered in feldspathic ceramic. However, the advantages over the feldspathic veneers are not few, especially in terms of longevity and durability. Feldspathic veneers lose a little from their naturality over the years and they last less than Emax veneers.

They both offer the smile of your dreams: you only need to entrust yourselves to our professionals so that they can recommend the most suitable solution for your case.

Indications:

  • Pigmented teeth
  • Teeth with enamel alterations
  • Separated teeth (diastema)
  • Malpositioned teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • Teeth resistant to whitening techniques
  • Teeth with altered shape

Teeth Whitening

The color of the teeth is a very important factor if you dream of an ideal smile. Patients who are not satisfied with the color of their enamel can resort to a very simple and quick solution: laser teeth whitening in a dental clinic session or home whitening.

Professional laser whitening

It consists of the application of a hydrogen peroxide-based gel on the surface of the teeth. This gel, once irradiated by the laser, acts on the dental enamel by releasing free radicals capable of penetrating deep into the tooth and reaching the pigmented molecules, which are the main cause of tooth stains and yellowing. The combination of gel and laser breaks the pigment molecules thanks to an oxidation-reduction reaction and immediately whitens the teeth, making them appear instantly shiny and white.

Whitening at home

After the dentist takes the impressions of the tooths in the dental office, the laboratory produces a whitening custom tray, in which the whitening gel is inserted. The tray must be worn overnight or for a few hours a day. In 8-10 days you will have a hollywood smile.

Aesthetic fillings

The latest generation of composites that we use offers a splendid aesthetic result on the anterior teeth and a permanent functional restoration in the distal teeth. The restorations are invisible and they always remain a secret.

Dental prostheses

Tooth loss is one of the most common concerns of patients. In addition to the aesthetic and psychological problem that decreases self-confidence, the lack of teeth has some unpleasant functional consequences like damage of the temporomandibular joint, malnutrition, and problems with the digestive system. We provide all our knowledge to restore the smile and functionality, meeting the economic and social situations of the patients.

Mobile prosthesis

  • Total denture (total missing teeth)
  • Partial denture with metal clasps (partial missing teeth)
  • Elastic dentures
  • Total dentures reinforced with metal mesh
  • Partial dentures with metal framework and clasps
  • Partial dentures with attachments
  • Mobile prostheses over implants or natural tooth (overdenture)

Fixed prosthesis

  • Crowns and bridges in metal-ceramic, zirconia or palladium
  • Emax crowns (pressed ceramic) for maximum aesthetic in the anterior teeth
  • Fixed crowns or bridges on dental implants
  • Emax veneers
  • Inlay, Onlay, Overlay (ceramic fillings)

Conservative Dentistry

Dental caries treatment
  • Composite fillings (aesthetic white obturations)
  • Amalgam fillings (black obturations)
  • Inlay and onlay (ceramic obturations)
Reconstruction of damaged teeth
  • Prefabricated metal or fiber posts
  • Custom cast posts (prepared in the laboratory, they perfectly fit  the anatomy of the root canal)
  • Clinical crown lengthening (expose the healthy margin of a carious or deeply fractured tooth)

Endodontics and Dental Infections

Thanks to modern methods for the preparation of root canals, to irrigants and intracanal medications, ultrasounds, and laser, the success of the treatment of dental infections has significantly increased.

No infected tooth, which can be reconstructed, must be extracted without first trying root canal therapy because the human body has excellent regenerative capabilities. We offer free periodic evaluation with digital radiography after 3, 6, 12 months for all patients treated in our clinic.

Dental Emergencies

Our clinic treats all kind of dental emergencies. We provide the appropriate spaces to immediately solve:

  • Toothache
  • Dental infection
  • Dental trauma
  • Bleeding after extraction
  • Lacerations in the tongue or soft tissues
  • Crown/bridges loosening

Digital Radiography

Intraoral and panoramic digital radiography offers decisive help to modern dentistry to achieve the right diagnosis. X-rays allow the detection of dental pathologies and lesions in the jaws, as well as the close monitoring of periapical infections and lesions treated with surgical interventions. All data are stored in the electronic system and attached in the patient medical record.
